How the Shop Works
After every trial, the shop opens and offers 2 random demon cards to summon (costs sigils). You can hold a maximum of 3 demons at a time. You can also sell equipped demons for 30% of their purchase price.
Higher-rank demons are rarer in the shop: Kings have a ~0.5% base chance, Greaters ~4.5%, and Lessers fill the rest. The Luck stat improves these odds.

Infernal Packs
Cost: 10 Sigils (price increases by 1.2x per purchase). You get 3 upgrade cards - pick one. These are general run upgrades.

Covenant Packs
Cost: 10 Sigils (price increases by 1.2x per purchase). Only available if you have equipped demons. You get 3 upgrade cards - pick one, then choose which demon to apply it to.

Demon Leveling & Scaling
Demons start at Level 1. They can only gain levels through Demon Level Up upgrades in Covenant Packs.
Leveling is powerful because it's a multiplier on base values. Passive Boost compounds multiplicatively with level:
Active = Base × Level + Active Boost
Cooldown = Base Cooldown - Cooldown Reduction (min 1)
King Talents
King demons unlock talent choices at specific levels:
- Tier 1 unlocks at Level 3 - choose between two specialisations
- Tier 2 unlocks at Level 5 - choose between two further upgrades
Each tier is a permanent A or B choice that changes how the King's abilities work. Only Kings have talents.
Player Level
Your player level increases as you accumulate Total Souls during a run. Each level-up lets you pick a reroll charge:
- Demon Reroll - refresh demon offerings in the shop
- Infernal Reroll - re-draw Infernal Pack cards
- Covenant Reroll - re-draw Covenant Pack cards

Boss Battles
At key points in a run, an angel descends to challenge you. Boss fights are head-to-head duels using a shared scorecard.
How It Works
- Both sides start with 4 HP (hearts)
- Each round, the boss scores first, then it's your turn
- Whoever scores higher that round deals 1 damage to the other. Ties deal no damage
- Your demon passives still apply to your scores during the fight
- The boss has its own AI plus a passive bonus and a signature ability
Showdown
If only 1 category remains and the score is tied, a Showdown triggers. The winner deals 2 damage. Showdown ties replay until someone wins.
